Choosing the Right Rose
It is that time of year again. A time of anticipation. What is my honey going to do this year to surprise me for Valentine’s Day? For many of you, February 14th is the flower day, and I am here to help you make the right choice in choosing the right flowers and to provide tips on how to care for the blooming beauties.Red roses are the cl*ssic Valentine’s flower, the colour of love. A helpful hint to you men out there; a lot of our lady customers prefer a mix of red roses and other coloured roses. It is beautiful, bright, and she will get to see a variety of roses and their outstanding qualities that she may have never seen before.
When choosing roses for impact, look for roses with a large flower head, high petal count, a long stem. A 60 cm long stem rose will usually always have a large bloom. A fully hydrated rose should feel somewhat firm and gradually softens as it opens. If the roses are bruised and have a wrinkled appearance, they are either old or have been mistreated. Remember, what do you want your roses to say?

Here’s a little food for thought from around the world. In Canada, if we get flowers for no occasion we assume our significant other did something wrong. In Europe, if you don’t get fresh flowers, you did something wrong. Something to think about.
